Ada Jane Stewart

Ada Jane Stewart, age 92, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Services in Charlotte. She was born February 27, 1925 in Locke Township, Ingham County, Michigan the daughter of James Henry and Flossie Ada (Dunckel) Maxwell. Ada graduated from Williamston High School with the Class of 1942. On June 19, 1943 she married the love of her life Keith Harrison Stewart in Williamston. Ada was a tremendous wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always involved with each family members activities. Whether it was helping with milking, caring for children, field work, or house work, Ada did it all. She adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Her and Keith opened their home to over 50 foster children. Sometimes it would be several kids at one time. They always saw to it that siblings were all able to stay together in a loving home. In her free time, which she didnt have very often, she could be found sewing, gardening, cooking, or looking for the next treasure to ad to her collection of Robins or Angels. Ada is survived by her husband of 74 years Keith; children: Keith H. (Marj) Stewart of Olivet, Harold D. (Sharon) Stewart of Vermontville, Irene L. (Charles) Vasilion of Olivet, Kenneth J. (Beth Stephens) Stewart of Olivet; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 12 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the funeral home.
