Alan G. Bishop

Alan Gordon Bishop, age 79, of Olivet, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born July 14, 1938, in Bay City, MI the son of Arlo and Mary Rose (Maurer) Bishop. Alan graduated from Olivet High School with the Class of 1956. He was an active and devoted member of the West Carmel Congregational Church. Alan retired at age 59 from Air-Way Manufacturing in Olivet after many years of service. He loved spending time with his family and was especially fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his free time, Alan enjoyed golfing and spending time at the lake fishing. Alan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan; children: Sharon and Jack Irons, Ann and Bill Lundy, Harry and Tracy Reynolds, Mike and Linda Reynolds, Lane Bishop, Todd Bishop, Sheila Mclean; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; siblings: Ron and Dianna Bishop, Ted and Judy Bishop, John and Donna Bishop. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Mary Reynolds. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018, at 12 PM at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Darwin Kuhl and Pastor Chuck Jenson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet.
