Archie M. Scott

Archie M. Scott of Charlotte, MI, age 99, died Saturday Oct. 3, 2015 at his residence. Archie was born Jan. 26, 1916 in Fulton County, Ohio the son of Clair and Mable (Smith) Scott and had lived most of his life in the Charlotte area. He had attended the Smith School on M-50 northwest of Charlotte. He and his wife had wintered for many years in Florida. He had farmed and for many years operated his own limestone trucking business in the area. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and held life memberships in the Charlotte Lodge #120 F. & A. M, the Chapter, the Commandery and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a former member of the Charlotte Lions Club and was a former Lions Deputy District Governor. Surviving are: two daughters, Joyce R. (Lou Gene) Byrd of North Carolina and Margaret A. Elbrink of Charlotte; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Beatrice Vera (Cooper) Scott in 2000 and by brothers, Earl, Vern and Sherman Scott and his sister, Rena Halsey. In accordance with Archie’s wishes, no visitation or services will be held. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
