Arnold R. Heinze, age 83 of Ruskin, Florida, formerly of Potterville, MI, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing after a short illness. Arnold was born April 7, 1929 in Potterville, MI the son of Ordail and Ruth (Mitchell) Heinze. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 4 years near the end of World War Two having joined at the age of 17. He retired from Consumers Power Co. in 1984 after 33 years of service then moved to Florida and started working at Southern Florida District Church of the Nazarene for 15 years. Surviving are: his wife of 42 years, Louanne (Perkins) Heinze; Children, Marty Heinze of Harrison, David Heinze of Charlotte, John “Bud” (Christine) Hicks of Lake Placid, FL, Vickie (Jeff) Carrick of Charlotte, Jane Griffin of Virginia Beach, VA, Tammie (Mike) Selzer of Tarpon Springs, FL and Jim Heinze of Ruskin, FL; 22 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren; his brother, Richard “Dick” (Anna) Heinze of Potterville and sister-in-law, Veralee Heinze of Potterville. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Rosemary (Wilber) Heinze; his daughter, Larinda (Heinze) Klont; step mother, Vera (Mishler) Heinze and siblings, Francis, Orvail, Bonnie and Rachael. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte. Visitation will be held also on Thursday from 11:00 A. M. until time of services at the Funeral Home. Cremation to follow services. Memorial contributions may go to C.A.R.E.
