Barbara Hicks

Barbara Hicks, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away July 6, 2022 peacefully, at the Village of Westerville Retirement Center. Beloved wife of Jack Hicks (deceased) and dear mother of Ronald Hicks (Rhonda), Thomas Hicks (Sue), and Renee Richardson (Don/deceased); also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Barbara, born February 26, 1932, daughter of the late Earl and Lura Patterson. She enjoyed sharing stories of her childhood farm life with her brother (Elwyn/Helena, Montana). Graduated from Olivet High School 1949. She was a telephone operator with AT&T for 22 years. She enjoyed sight seeing rides, viewing nature, flowers and visiting local nurseries. An extraordinary cook, she could put on a table fit for a king. Family gatherings were relished. Kind and generous to a fault, and having lived a life guided by the Golden Rule, Barbara will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 15, 1:00 p.m. at the Maple Hill Cemetery in her hometown of Charlotte, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Promedica Hospice.
