Betty Jean Cook

Betty J. (Brandt) Cook, age 82 of Charlotte, MI Passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Lansing. Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 14, 1931 in Calhoun County, near Bellevue, MI the daughter of Wesley and Hilda (Hughes) Brandt and was a lifelong resident of the Charlotte and Bellevue areas. She was a 1949 Graduate of Bellevue High School, was a former Eaton County Extension Group member and had been active in the Maurer 4-H Club. She was co-owner, with her husband, of Cook’s Blueberry Farm of Charlotte. She was a member of the Bellevue United Methodist Church and it’s Prime Timers Group, was a member of the Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed the activities of the Eaton Area Senior Center. Surviving are: her husband of 62 years, Lowell Cook; Daughter, Christine (Eric) Larson of Eaton Rapids; Son, Bryan (Jane) Cook of Freeland, MI; 4 grandchildren, Teresa Larson, Stacie Larson, Lindsay Cook and Emily Cook. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Tony Cook and siblings, Virginia Borgman, Duane Brandt and Elaine Schroder. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at the Bellevue United Methodist Church with Pastor Peggy Baker officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte and on Saturday from 10:00 A. M. until time of services at the Church. Memorial contributions may go to the Bellevue United Methodist Church or to the Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital Auxiliary. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home and the Church.
