Bill W. Steinke

Bill W. Steinke, age 85, of Olivet passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at his home. He was born May 30, 1932 in Big Rapids, MI, the son of Walter H. and Florence E. (Keitzman) Steinke. On September 22, 1977 he married Jane Ellen Masters at the Olivet Congregational Church. Bill served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the service he was stationed in Seoul, South Korea. He took great pride in his home and yard. Bill always made sure that it was kept in impeccable shape. He held two different occupations during his life. The first was as an insurance adjuster for 20 years and the second was as a truck driver for 18 years with Gra-Bell Truck Lines. Bill is survived by his wife of 39 years Jane; children: Thomas (Roberta) Steinke of Hibbing, Minnesota, Daniel Steinke of Hastings, Anne-Marie Dobransky of Downers Grove, IL; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grand children; brother, Ronald (Peggy) Steinke of White Hall sisters-in-law Amy (Mark) Holden of Olivet, Louise McDonald of Kalamazoo; brother-in-law Doug Masters of Rapid City, South Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice (Bill) Fagerlund; brother, Philip Steinke. Funeral services for Bill will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11 AM at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Olson officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, Charlotte and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
