Brian L. Nesbitt I

Brian Lee Nesbitt I, age 65, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020, at his home. He was born October 6, 1954, in Enid, Oklahoma the son of Virgil Lee and Darlyne E. (Murray) Nesbitt. Brian graduated from Oak Grove High School in San Jose, CA with the Class of 1973. On June 16, 1979, he married his soul mate, Jerri Lou Dwyer in Jackson, Michigan. Brian spent his career in the United States Army. He was very proud of his country and honorably served her for over 20 years. After he retired from the Army, he worked for Auto Port Limited in Lansing. Brian adored his family and was especially fond of his grandchildren. They all affectionately call him Papa. Brian loved to visit with others. He had a tremendous sense of humor and was always trying to make others laugh. Brian was a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan! He never missed a game and was always up to date on what was going on within the organization. Brian is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jerri; children: Nicole (Dustin) McKelvey of Charlotte, Brian L. (Danielle) Nesbitt II of Alamogordo, NM, Stephanie Nesbitt of Charlotte; grandchildren: Alexis Arnett, Braden Koos, Deagon McKelvey, Brian L. Nesbitt III, Zach Nesbitt, Noelani McKelvey; siblings: Joan Goodell of San Jose, CA, Richard (Paula) Nesbitt of Marshfield, WI, Clay Nesbitt of Healdsburg, CA, Patti (Charlie) Atherton Santa Clara, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Nesbitt. A private family service will be held at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home.
