Bruce P. Malcuit of Charlotte, MI, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care. Bruce was born October 5, 1936 the son of Charles and Bertha (Ward) Malcuit and was a lifelong resident of Eaton County. He was a Graduate of Vermontville High School and had served for 10 years in the Michigan Army National Guard. He was a retired Barber having worked in both Charlotte and Bellevue Barbershops. He had also been employed as a Car Salesman and was a licensed Real Estate salesman. He had been a member of the Charlotte Country Club, was a member of the Bellevue Historical Society and was a member of the Charlotte American Legion Post #42. He enjoyed gardening and farming and considered Bellevue as his “second home town.” Surviving are: four children, Beth Malcuit of Charlotte, Amy (Richard) Phifer of Allendale, Barb (Frank, Jr.) Silvas of Charlotte and Charles Malcuit of Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Travis (Carli) Silvas, Ryan (Vanessa) Silvas, Brendon (Sarah) Rankin, Rachel (Blake) Rankin, Ian Phifer, Jacob Malcuit, Bailey Silvas and Trey Phifer; 7 great grandchildren and his sister, Justine Snyder of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife of 54 years, Mikayla (Henry) Malcuit; grandson, Blake Rankin and brothers, Bud and Leo Malcuit. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with a Celebration of Life following at the Charlotte American Legion Post # 42 in Charlotte.
