Carmen Jantz Haynes, our precious Wife, Mom, Grammy, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Confidante, and Prayer Warrior, passed away at her winter home in Sarasota, Florida, in the early morning hours of February 25, 2020. Mom was born on October 27, 1963, to Stan and June Jantz at Turlock, California. She often talked of her California memories and friends. At the age of 13 her family moved to Clarksdale, Mississippi to start farming at Jantzville. On May 2, 1982, she married our Dad, Todd Haynes. They enjoyed 37 sweet years together. She loved working in her yard and helping on the farm. She was always ready to ride along with Dad, even if it was just to the barn. We remember her tough, energetic nature as well as seeing the needs of others and lending a helping hand. Our parents often talked of giving some of their time to the Lord, and in July of 2017, they left home to be house parents in NYC. The time spent there with the young men was a highlight of their married life. The diverse cultures of the city were enjoyable to our parents and while there, they made many lasting friendships. It was there that our mother was diagnosed with cancer and she fought this bravely until the end. A couple weeks before she was told of her illness, she had a special vision in which she communed with Jesus. It was so precious to her that she didnt tell anyone until after her diagnosis. It was a comfort to her and to all of us. Mom had a deep faith and trust in God and the Church, which kept her in the trying times. The last few days of her life she expressed that she was not afraid to die, but the hardest part of leaving was not being able to watch her grandchildren grow up. We do not know how we will go on without her, but we rejoice in knowing that she is now free from suffering. Those who will miss her the most are: her husband, Todd Haynes, Carson City, Michigan; her children: Jamie and Terry Schmidt; and Hudson, Addison, and Tripp, Alligator, Mississippi, Rachelle and Taylor Giesbrecht; and Khori, Clarksdale, Mississippi, Jordan and Alicia Haynes; Avery and Reese; Natasha and Elijah iung, Carson City, Michigan; her mother, June Jantz; her brother, Josh and Megan Jantz; Mikah and Lauren, all of Clarksdale, Mississippi; parents-in-law, Robert and Marilyn Haynes, Carson City, Michigan; brother-in-law Brent and Eileen Haynes and family, Guntersville, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her father, Stan and brother, Lyle. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 10:30 A.M. at the Wildwood Mennonite Church, 10145 S. Ely Hwy., Perrinton, MI 48871 with Ministers Israel Wengerd, Elmer Swarey, Jeff Litwiller, and Avery Peters officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Burial will take place in the Wildwood Mennonite Cemetery. Those desiring, may make contributions in Carmens honor to the Wildwood Mennonite Church to support USA Missions.
