Carol Ann Carpenter

Carol Ann Carpenter, age 86, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. She was born June 26, 1938, in Charlotte the daughter of Rholland and Cora (Bowser) Carpenter. Carol graduated from Potterville High School and then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and later her Master's Degree at the University of Michigan. She taught Home Economics her entire career at Yale Public Schools. After retirement she returned to her hometown of Potterville. Carol enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and spending time in her gardens. She cherished the time spent helping raise her great niece Dalton, who was like a daughter to her. Carol was a devoted Christian and active member of the West Windsor United Brethren Church where she organized lunches and played the organ and piano. Family was very important to Carol and she cherished all of her nieces and nephews.

Carol is survived by her sister-in-law, Diane Carpenter of Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Michael T. Carpenter of Charlotte, Holly (Jim) Shirely of Caledonia, Rebecca (Kim Dahlgren) Wertz of Charlotte; great-nieces and nephews, Austen Capenter, Hunter Carpenter, Jimmy Shirely, Nathen Shirely, Joey (Kaitlyn) Shirely, Dalton Wertz, Cora Shirely, and Hope Shirely.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David L. Carpenter.

A memorial service will be held at the West Windsor United Brethren Church, 7275 Windsor Hwy., Dimondale, MI 48821, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
