Carol Ann Taylor

Carol Ann "Mickey" Taylor, age 79, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 3, 2019, at her home with her family by her side. She was born September 24, 1940, in Charlotte, the daughter of Jacob and Gladys (Root) Clever. Carol graduated from Charlotte High School with the Class of 1958. On March 21, 1959, she married the love of her life, Carl Taylor, at the First Congregational Church in Charlotte. Carol adored her family, and loved spending every opportunity she had together. Holidays were a very special time for her, and she cherished each and every one. Carol enjoyed camping. She especially enjoyed camping at the campground in Coldwater. She also looked forward to her many trips to Mackinaw. Throughout her life, Carol had many special horses and dogs. Most recently her grand dog, Blaze, held a special place in her heart. Carol retired from the City of Charlotte after 24 years of faithful service. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl; children: Debra (Michael) Ols of West Virginia, Brenda Newman of Charlotte and special friend, Jim Upright, James (Michelle) Taylor of Charlotte; 7 grandchildren: 6 great grandchildren; sister, Velma "Corky" Van Dorpe. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Judith Ring, Joyce Elaine Clever; brother-in-law: Jerry Van Dorpe. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019, at 2 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Demars-Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery.
