Carol Catherine Wood, age 83, of Potterville, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2025. She was born September 2, 1941, in Chandler Branch, West Virginia, the daughter of William and Dora Conn. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was one of the most selfless and giving people one could ever meet. Carol loved helping others and was always present with a big smile and her heart felt encouragements. She loved spending time sewing and baking whenever possible. Carol was a member of Bright Hope Bible Church in Potterville and loved her church family. She worked and volunteered for many years at the City Rescue Mission of Lansing. This work brought her much joy as she was able to serve others with true love and compassion.


Carol is survived by her husband of 38 years, James; children, Mark (Dianne) Earley, Sharon (Tod) Barr, Brenda Zimmerman, Barbara Love, Becky (Rick) Morgan, Beverly Pennington; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Conn; sister, Joann (Wayne) Naylor; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilbur E. Conn; sister, Ida Baker; and sister-in-law, Lola Conn.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1 P.M. at Bright Hope Bible Church, 475 E. Vermontville Hwy., Potterville, MI 48876 with Pastor Terry LaDuke officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Benton Township Cemetery.
