Catherine Katy Nash

Catherine E. “Katy” Nash, age 65, of Olivet, MI, died Saturday, Jan.11, 2014 at the Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall after a long illness. Katy was born January 1, 1949 in Munising, MI the daughter of Leo and Irma (Somerville) Tyner and had lived in this area since 1967. She was a 1967 Graduate of Mather High School in Munising and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1971 with her B. A. in Pre-Med. She had been employed for 10 years as Purchasing Agent for Progressive Dynamics in Marshall and served for 30 years at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall as Senior Purchasing Agent and then as Materials Management Director for the majority of her time there. She currently is a full partner with her husband in the Maple Leaf Gallery a family owned business. Surviving are: her husband of 42 years, John G. Nash and 6 siblings, Dennis Tyner of Virginia, Ted Tyner of Atlanta, GA, Tommy Tyner of Chelsea, MI, Iris Bugg of Wetmore, MI, Gary McQuisten of Munising and Shelly Davis of Shelter Bay, MI. At Katy’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the St. Ann Catholic Church, 312 S. Main St. in Bellevue, Michigan with Father Tucker Cordani officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, MI. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, the A. L. S. Association or St. Ann Catholic Church.
