Charles R. "Pete" Stults of Charlotte, MI, age 91, passed away on Sunday Oct. 15, 2017 at his residence under the loving care of his family. Pete was born November 11, 1925 in Lansing the son of Orma R. and Hilda (McConnell) Stults and was a lifelong resident of Eaton County. He was a 1943 Graduate of Olivet High School and was a decorated World War II Army Air Corps Veteran and was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Charlotte V. F. W. Post 2406, the Charlotte American Legion Post #42, was a 34 year member of the Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Pleasure Point R. V. Condo Association and the First Congregational Church. Surviving are his five children, Karen (Michael) Shepard, Jack (Kimberly) Stults, Randy Stults, Brian Stults and Jill Stults; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, Helen June (Smuts) Stults, brother, Paul Stults and sisters, Delores Weeks and Joyce Jolls. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Philip Hobson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held later at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Memorial contributions may go to the Great Lakes Caring Hospice, the Charlotte American Legion Post #42, the Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department or First Congregational Church.
