Claire J. Parr

Claire J. Parr, age 84 of Charlotte, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at the Pennock Hospital in Hastings. Mrs. Parr was born June 4, 1925 in Flint, MI the daughter of Roy and Lauraetta (Fry) Griffis and had been a Charlotte resident since 1959. She was the former owner/operator, with her husband, of the Maple Knoll Trailer Park of Charlotte and was a member of the Lawrence Ave. United Methodist Church and it’s Deborah Circle. Surviving are: her children, Susan L. (William L) Cornwell of Charlotte, Carol J. (Malcolm E.) Hume of Eaton Rapids and Steven R. (Gayl) Parr of Plymouth; Grandchildren, William C. Cornwell, Katherine S. (Kurt) Place, Matthew S. Hume, Steven R. Hume, Kathleen C. Parr and Ryan C. Parr and one great grandson, Cameron A. Place. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald R. Parr in 1987 and by brothers, Lowell, George, Henry and Richard Griffis. Memorial services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Karen Wheat officiating. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at the Funeral Home. There will be a luncheon at the Lawrence Ave. United Methodist Church fellowship hall following services. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church.
