Claude Young, age 87, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019. He was born April 22, 1932, in Bonneville, KY the son of Harlan and Julia (Patrick) Young. Claude proudly served his country in both the United States Navy and United States Army during the Korean Conflict. During his working career Claude owned and operated Young Enterprises, Young Builders, and Golden Days AFC. After his retirement he loved to travel and run the roads. In his free time, he enjoyed reading western novels and watching western movies. Claude was a very generous man that was always concerned about the needs of others. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time together. Claude is survived by his children: Debbie (Carl) Watkis of Lansing, Cindi (Larry) Powers of Charlotte, Rose (Donald) Perry of Bellevue, Laura Young of Lansing, Tammy (Trey) Cary of Lansing, Brett Colette of Lake City, UT; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Harlan (Sharon) Young of Charlotte, Virginia (Melvin) Gosnell of Grand Ledge, Loretta Staley of Grand Ledge, Jim Young of Ohio, Margaret Ewing of Mason; special friend, Judy Finney. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ollie; siblings Carl Young, Lena Peterson, Fred Young and Clyde Young. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Fuenral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Perry Cemetery.
