Clayton Anthony Straseske, known affectionately as Tony, passed away peacefully at his home in Lansing, Michigan, on March 14, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on January 25, 1949, in Watertown, Wisconsin, Tony embodied a life dedicated to servicing both his community and his country.

Tony's professional journey began after he earned his PhD from Michigan State University. He went on to have a distinguished career as a psychologist for the Michigan Department of Corrections, where his expertise and compassion made a significant impact on many lives. His dedication to his work was evident in every interaction, and he often shared that his greatest satisfaction came from helping others navigate their challenges.

A proud veteran, Tony served his country in the United States Army, an experience that shaped his character and deepened his sense of duty. He was an avid golfer and cherished the time he spent on the green. Tony also loved to travel, with one of his most memorable trips being to Africa, where he embraced the experience fully. Additionally, he was a die-hard supporter of the Michigan State Spartans..

Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda Jane; his daughter Kristen (Frank) Gronemeyer; his siblings Sandi (Tim) Lloyd and Tom (Shirley) Straseske; his grandchildren Alex (Jenessa) Gronemeyer, Caleb (Margaret) Gronemeyer, Tori (Dylan) Vanguard, and Rachel Gronemeyer; as well as his great-grandsons Harvey and Octavius Gronemeyer. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Marian Straseske, and his brother Ken Straseske.

A memorial gathering celebrating Tony’s life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home. Please come prepared to share your memories and enjoy the fellowship of those who knew and loved Tony.
