Cleta I. Thornton

Cleta (McDonald) Thornton, age 71 of Olivet, MI, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care. Cleta was born March 15, 1941 in Vermontville Township, Eaton County, the daughter of Clifton and Carol (Swartz) McDonald and had been a resident of Olivet for 42 years coming from Vermontville. She was a 1959 Graduate of Vermontville High School. She had been employed at General Motors in Lansing for 32 years and later at the Eaton Place Restaurant in Charlotte for 10 years. Surviving are: her daughter, Linda (Doug) Willbur of Battle Creek; her son, Edgar Thornton of Olivet; granddaughter, Ericha (Chad) Boeneman; 3 great grandchildren, Saige, Abbie and Trace Boeneman; 3 brothers, Bob (Cathy) McDonald of Lansing, Mike (Joyce) McDonald of Nashville and Duane (Sandy) McDonald of The Villages, Florida and best friend, Joyce Gilson. A Memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with visitation also on Friday from 10:00 A.
