David Duane Garity

David D. Garity of Bellevue, MI, age 70 died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Bronson Battle Creek. Dave was born Oct. 16, 1940 in Olivet, MI the son of Carl and Vida (Holcomb) Garity and was a lifelong resident of the Olivet/Bellevue area. He was a 1958 Graduate of Olivet High School and had been employed at Air-Way Mfg. Co. of Olivet and Marshall Brass. He enjoyed competing in Trap Shooting. Surviving are: his wife of 51 years, Kittie “Kay” (Hall) Garity; daughter, Debora (Christopher) Pieknik of Bellevue; grandson, Chad Christopher Pieknik and his sister, Barbara (Otis) Parker of Wynder, GA. He was preceded in death by: his parents; Twin daughters, Dawn Lynett and Denise Annett Garity in 1978 and his brother, Keith Garity. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Don Francis of Bellevue First Baptist Church officiating. Interment in the Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
