David K. Jackson, age 85, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on January 30, 2021. Dave was born in Pontiac, Michigan on October 27, 1935. The family moved to Evart, Michigan where he graduated from high school, and then went on to graduate from Oakland City College in Indiana. Dave married Barbara K. Tomlinson in Midland on April 25, 1959. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage and raised their 3 children; David, Debra and John in Charlotte. He lived each day to the fullest; faith, family, work and fun. Dave served in the U.S. Army with an 18-month assignment in Germany. He worked at Dow Chemical Company in Midland and then Product Engineering at Lansing’s Oldsmobile Division. After retirement in 1989, he built their home on Eight Point Lake in Clare County. Dave was a very active member at the Farwell United Methodist Church and a current member of Kalamo United Methodist Church. Surviving is his loving family: wife, Barbara; daughter-in-law Cheryl Jackson, Highwood, IL; children: Debra (Loren) Griffin, Charlotte and John Jackson, Bellevue; grandchildren: Katelin (Blake) Kennedy, Jessica Griffin, Laurel Griffin, Alexis Jackson, Ben Jackson; one great-grandson Elliott Kennedy; sister, Karen Caszatt; and sister-in-law, Shirley Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Delmar and Bonnie Tomlinson; and sister-in-law, Norma Brooks. He was preceded in death by their son, David and brother, James Jackson. A private immediate family service, due to Covid-19, is being held at the Kalamo United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Bukoski officiating. His final resting place will be at Kalamo Hillside Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Kalamo United Methodist Church, 1475 S. Ionia Rd., Vermontville, MI 49096.
