David Lee Lehner, was born October 30, 1944 in Alma, Michigan, to Oren JR and Betty (Keller) Lehner. Dad departed from this life at his home on Wednesday evening, October 19, 2022 at the age of 77. Dad lived with his parents until the age of 11 years old. He then moved in with his Uncle Henry Keller and spent his growing up years in Bridgeville and Perrinton. Dad married our Mother, Joyce Litwiller, in 1967. Dad was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite by Minister Newell Litwiller in 1968 and the Newark Congregation became his church home. He worked at General Motors for 34 years. Dad and Mom had a dairy farm near Ithaca, Michigan, for several years. Dad faced spiritual struggles and trials in later years and has lived near Stanton, Michigan, since 2006.
Dad is survived by our mom, Joyce; children, Brenda Prins, David and Lorinda Lehner, Tim Lehner, Frank and Meggan Lehner, Christine Lehner, Kassandra Lehner (Kenny Sumerix) Nate and Kayla Webster; 16 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Robert Lehner and Richard and Rosemary Lehner; two sisters, Sharon and George Nevills, Sandra and Ron Ide; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, one brother, and two sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at the Newark Mennonite Church, 3446 S. Alger Rd., Ithaca, Michigan with Ministers Michael Litwiller, Darin Litwiller, and Keith Litwiller officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the church. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Hayes Road Cemetery.
