David Wayne Huva, age 68 of Charlotte, MI, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2010. In March of 1942, he was born to William and Dortha (Van Pelt) Huva in Wauseon, Ohio. Graduated from Wauseon High School and DeVries College where he studied radio engineering. His career in radio started at WPLB in Greenville, MI and continued for 37 years at WCER in Charlotte. He was a deeply religious man who never wore it on his sleeve, he simply lived it. He belonged to the First Lutheran Church where he was very active. He was a HAM radio enthusiast and was a regular Red Cross Blood donor with over 15 gallons donated. He is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Marjorie (Peake) Huva; his son, David Wayne Huva II of Charlotte; his daughter, Bethann Alice (Joseph) Duffy of Ann Arbor; Grandson, David Huva III; step grandchildren, Sean and Allison Duffy; step great grandchild, Emory Duffy and his sister, Phyllis Herman of Montpelier, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Dortha Huva and his brother, Richard Huva. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the First Lutheran Church, 550 E. Shepherd St., Charlotte, MI with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Brush Ridge Cemetery in Barry County. Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte. Memorial contributions may go to the First Lutheran Church, Eaton Community Hospice or the Charity of one’s choice.
