Dean Harrison Bennett

Dean Harrison Bennett age 87 of Charlotte, MI, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at his residence. Dean was born March 26, 1924 near Lansing in Ingham County the son of Peter Harrison and Susan (Buck) Bennett and had been a Charlotte resident since 1957. He had served in the U. S. Navy during World War Two. He was a lifelong farmer and was still actively involved in the operation of his farm. He was also a Blacksmith performing his duties around the area and many years ago had a Blacksmith Shop in Nashville and also served as an instructor in Blacksmithing at M. S. U. While in Nashville was an active member of the Community in many areas including being a Volunteer Fireman. He was an avid Bowler. Surviving are: his wife of 66 years, Lucille (Lamb) Bennett; 3 children, Diane (Ron) Thies of Lansing, Jim (Mary) Bennett of Charlotte and Peter (Susan) Bennett of Charlotte; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Paul Swan and Pastor Irene Vittoz officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12 Noon until time of Memorial Services at the Funeral Home.
