Diane Marie (Bishop) Whitaker

Diane Marie (Bishop) Whitaker age 58 of Bellevue, died Monday, May 24, 2010 at her home after a lengthy illness. Diane was born March 7, 1952 in Charlotte, the daughter of Earl Leroy and Margaret Lucille (Gee) Bishop. She was a life resident of Eaton County having grown up on a Farm and lived her entire life on the same farm in Bellevue Township. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a housewife. Most of all, she loved caring for her home and family and loved cooking and cake decorating. Surviving are: her husband, Steven Joe Whitaker; four children, Jason Harold (Monique) Whitaker of Carl Junction, MO, Teresa Jean (Eric) Lindsey of Bellevue, Travis Steven Whitaker of Battle Creek and Nicholas Earl Whitaker of Bellevue; three grandchildren, Preston Blake Whitaker, Sydney Diane Lindsey and Caden Eli Whitaker; her mother, Margaret L. Bishop of Bellevue and two brothers, Dean William (Wanda) Bishop of Dover, FL and Duane Earl (Marilyn) Bishop of Bellevue. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Scott Brood of Ainger Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Care of Battle Creek. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
