Donald Jean Park

Donald Jean Park, age 95, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born November 5, 1925, in Detroit the son of Lenny and Bessie (Tichenor) Park. Don married the love of his life Phyllis Jean Powers in November of 1948. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant the world to him and he cherished each and everyone of them. Don had a heart of gold and enjoyed teasing others. He was a magnificent woodworker and created many beautiful works throughout his life. Don also enjoyed traveling with Phyllis and loved their home in Estero, Florida. Don is survived by his children: Cindy Gowell of Charlotte, Dave (Nancy) Park of North Carolina, Kathy (Tom) Newell of Georgia, Nancy (Phil) Kemp of California; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; brother, Larry Park; grandson, Michael Gowell; and son-in-law, Jay Gowell. In keeping with Don’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are being held.
