Dorothy Jane (Toews) Inniger was born on December 3, 1938, to Peter and Ella (Amoth) Toews in Langdon, North Dakota. She quietly passed away on February 20, 2018 at the age of 79. Growing up in North Dakota she attended school, enjoyed her youth, and many adventures with her brothers and sisters. She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on June 26, 1952, by Minister Clifford Mastre. As a young lady she moved with her family to Wisconsin. While there she worked as a waitress, nanny, and loved spending time with her large family. There she met Lyle and they were married on April 19, 1959, in Barron Wisconsin by Minister Peter P. Toews. As a married couple they lived in Middleton, Michigan where they raised their three children. She graduated from high school in 1986 which was a big accomplishment for her. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her much joy. She filled her days with sewing, quilting, and gardening. She looked forward to coffee hour with friends. After Lyles accident she lovingly cared for him. They enjoyed 57 years of married life. They enjoyed traveling to visit family. Some of their trips included Wisconsin, Georgia, North Dakota, Norway, and Switzerland. They enjoyed several trips with their children, grandchildren and other family to Florida, Arizona, and Mackinac Island. Those left to cherish fond memories are her children: Kathleen Inniger, Michelle and Matt Underwood and Orlan and Lisa Inniger. Dorothy was blessed with seven grandchildren: Randi, Joshua & Kimberly and Kaycee Inniger, Oak, Bregje, Tabitha and Caelan Underwood; siblings: Myrtle (Richard) Hagelberger, Ruth (James) Mlejnek, Erma (Maynard) Haynes, Willard (Gwen) Toews, Morrell (Yvonne) Toews, and Sylvia Emerson; sisters-in-law: Marjorie Martin, Lois Koehn, Lydia Toews, Gertrude Toews; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Lyle; brothers: Percy Toews, Dean (Juanita) Toews, Ivan Toews, Duane Toews; sister, Esther (Henry) Penner; brother-in-law, LeRoy Koehn. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. at the Mt. Calm Mennonite Church, 302 Gratiot, Carson City, MI 48811 with Deacon Gary Haynes, Deacon Jed Litwiller and Minister Jerry Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the church. Interment will take place at Hayes Road Cemetery, Ithaca.
