Dorothy M. Bosworth

Dorothy M. (Shepard) Bosworth, age 76 of Charlotte, MI passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing. Dorothy was born Oct. 20, 1935 in Charlotte the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Dodson) Shepard and had been a life resident of the Charlotte area. She was a 1953 Graduate of Charlotte High School and attended Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees in Education. She served as a 4-H Leader and had served as Sheep Superintendent of the Eaton County 4-H Fair. She had been active in the Charlotte Community Nursery School for over 50 years, was a master gardener and was a member of the Gresham United Methodist Church. Surviving are: her husband of 55 years, Quentin W. Bosworth; four children, Dr. Quinn M. Bosworth of Haslett, Kris Boehmer of Charlotte, Bethany (Curtis) Hedrick of Olivet and Kelly Jo (Hayes) Martens of Chillicothe, MO; seven grandchildren, Tyler & Chase Bosworth, Evan & Erika Boehmer, Sheridan Hedrick, Mary Remington Hedrick and Quincie Martens; one great grandchild, Bryson Bosworth and one sister, Phyllis Shepard-Spiro (Matthew Spiro) of Fort Thomas, KY. She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Melissa Bosworth and grandson, Memphis Hedrick. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Kathy Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Gresham Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to the Dorothy Bosworth 4-H Memorial Fund.
