Dorothy Mae Shattuck

Dorothy Mae Shattuck of Charlotte, MI, age 87, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Dorothy was born October 26, 1928 in Forman, North Dakota the daughter of John Peter and Edna (Whitinger) Filbert and had been a Charlotte area resident since 1937. She was a retired Charlotte Public Schools Bus Driver with 21 years of service and prior to that had worked in an Upholstery and Drapery Business. She was currently an active and devout member of the First Lutheran Church of Charlotte. She is survived by: four children, Katherine D. Bennett of Ovid, MI, Dawn (Joe) Watkins of Colorado, Springs, CO, Jim (Jackie) Shattuck of Fowlerville and Randy Shattuck of Charlotte; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her brother, Chuck (Glenda) Filbert of Charlotte and sister, Donna (Bill) Tellas of Pickford, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James N. Shattuck in 1990 and by a sister, Evelyn Cole. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the First Lutheran Church, 550 E. Shepherd St. in Charlotte with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte. Interment will be in the East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos.
