Earl J. Roiter of Charlotte, Mi, age 83, died Thursday, February 06, 2014 at his residence after an extended illness. Earl was born Sept. 11, 1930 in Charlotte the son of Charles and Nora (Rogers) Roiter and was a lifelong Charlotte area resident. He was a 1949 Graduate of Charlotte High School. Early on was employed as a Plumber & Pipefitter for the former Buffenbarger Plumbing and Behnke Plumbing of Charlotte and later was employed through and was a member of Local #335 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union from where he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and athletic events especially those of his grandchildren. He was founder of “Loud Basin Lodge.” Surviving are: His wife of 50 years, Sharon (Powers) Roiter; three children, Doug Roiter of Charlotte, Dan (Ann) Roiter of Charlotte and Annette Andrews of Olivet and five grandchildren, Cody Roiter, Zack Roiter, Tyler Andrews, Jake Andrews and Devin Roiter. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Roiter and sister, Arline Philip. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte with Rev. Tom Evans and Rev. Irene Vittoz officiating. Interment will be in the Perry Cemetery in Brookfield Township. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the Brookfield United Methodist Church, Olivet Schools Athletic Department or to the charity of one’s choice.
