Earl Reginald Schneider, age 90, of Eaton Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021. He was born April 2, 1931, in Belle Plaine, Wisconsin the son of Albert and Amanda (Grim) Schachtschneider. Soon after graduating from high school Earl enlisted in the United States Air Force where he faithfully served until his honorable discharge. While in the Air Force Earl helped with several NASA projects and was proud that he had created a special piece that was used on Apollo One. On May 22, 1954, he married the love of his life Arlene Rose Bussian. Earl worked the majority of his life as a carpenter. He loved his trade and always strived to do his best at each and every project. Earl loved his family and enjoyed woodworking, and spending time at their cottage on School Section Lake in Mecosta. He was an active and devoted member of First Lutheran Church for many years. Earl is survived by his children: Tammy (Michael) Harri of Eaton Rapids, Todd (Denny Lysakowski) Schneider of Traverse City, Dave Schneider of Lansing; grandchildren: Amanda (Phil) Shedd, Michael Schneider, William (Chelsea) Schneider, Tyler Harri; and great grandchildren: Haddon and Hudson Schneider. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene; sisters: Vera (Lloyd) Ziebell and Velda (Robert) Holmes. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 11 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Jim Eggert officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will take place at Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing.
