Edward G. VanDenDriessche, age 83, of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 13, 2022, at his home. Ed was born September 24, 1938, at the family farm outside of Charlotte, the son of Edward and Augusta (VanDemortel) VanDenDriessche. Ed had a passion for mules his entire life. He enjoyed everything about them even their stubbornness. This may have been because Ed had a stubborn streak in him too. Ed was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He often looked forward to opening day and the time he spent at their place up north near Mesick. Above all Ed cherished his family and loved spending time together. Ed may have had a gruff exterior but he truly had a heart of gold. Ed is survived by his children: Hank (Rose Buttleman) VanDenDriessche, Dawn (Dennis) Embree; grandchildren: George (Michelle) VanDenDriessche, Sam (Hanna) VanDenDriessche, Caleb Embree, Elizabeth Embree; great-grandchildren: Weston VanDenDriessche, Thomas VanDenDriessche; siblings: Millie (Joe) Zakora, Dolores (Jim) Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine on February 13, 2022; siblings: Joe VanDenDriessche and Jim VanDenDriessche. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, at 11 A.M. at the Lee Township Hall 23045 21 Mile Road, Olivet, MI 49076. Burial has taken place at Bosworth Cemetery.
