Ernest Eugene Serene

Ernest Eugene Serene, age 90, of Muir, MI, formerly of Charlotte and Eaton County, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Ernest was born July 3, 1921 in Idaville, Indiana, the son ot Allan E. and Lucille (Thomas) Serene. He was a World War Two U. S. Navy veteran and had been employed at Johnson’s Foundry in Charlotte from where he retired. He is survived by: his sister, Melvina Feltner of Muir; a brother, Richard Collins of Florida; 15 nieces and 11 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Clarence, Chuck and Allan Serene and 3 sisters, Dorothy Wells, Zora Hess and Doris Bahr. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Graveside services and inurnment will take place at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at the Kalamo Hillside Cemetery on South Ionia Road in Kalamo Township, Eaton County.
