Everett G. Cleveland, age 86, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at his home. He was born December 17, 1934, in Lansing, the son of Everett and Wilma (Rush) Cleveland. Everett graduated from Lansing Eastern High School with the class of 1953. Everett worked his entire life as a brick mason. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed admiring mason work wherever he traveled. He was also proud of a mission trip he took to Jamaica to help in the construction of a church. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Everett enjoyed many things in life, a few of which included dancing at the senior center and Eagles Club, playing softball, playing cards, listening to classic country music, playing his harmonica, and spending time at his cabin in Leroy. He was a huge U of M and Detroit Tigers fan. Everett also loved a good joke and playing pranks on those he cared for most. He loved his many pets throughout the years but was especially fond of his dog, Duke. Everett proudly served his country in the National Guard. Everett is survived by his children: Patrick Cleveland of Missouri, Aaron Cleveland of Lansing, Trena (Mike) Stilwell of St. Johns, Heidi (T.J. Teall) Rambo of Ovid; grandchildren: Steven Rambo, Tyler Rambo, Destanie Rambo, Brenna Rambo, Gabrielle Cleveland, Gage Cleveland, Ashleigh Cervantes, Jaden Bates; great grandson, Declan Rambo; step daughter, Dawn (Marty Martin) Sherman; step granddaughters: Brianna Richards and Amber Sherman; sisters: Janet (Jack) Peru of DeWitt, Sharon Smith of Grand Rapids; and sister-in-law, Sandy Cleveland of DeWitt. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Terry Cleveland and Jeff Cleveland; granddaughter, Shelby Bates; and brother, Gary Cleveland. Private family services will be held at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home.
