Florence Mehlberg

Florence J. Mehlberg, age 89 of Charlotte, MI passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013. Mrs. Mehlberg was born April 12, 1924 in Danforth, IL the daughter of Sebo and Tracy (Classen) Wilken and had been a Charlotte resident since 1953. She was a Graduate of Danforth&Gilman High School and graduated from Illinois State University from where she received her Degree in Elementary Education. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church where she had been a member of the choir, L.W.M.L., Elizabeth Guild and did quilting for the Lutheran World Relief. She was also a Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital Volunteer. Surviving are: Four children, Pamela A. (Stephen) Rohdy of Charlotte, Sherry R. (Edward) Allen of Charlotte, Paul E. (Barbara) Mehlberg of Kennesaw, GA and Mark J. (Carol) Mehlberg of Powder Springs, GA; Nine grandchildren, Stacy Rohdy, Sonja (Greg) Scherer, Stephanie (Scott Reich) Rohdy, Kylie Allen, Colleen Mehlberg, Tyler Allen, Andrew Mehlberg, Matthew Mehlberg and Janna Mehlberg; Four great grandchildren, Sydney & Jaymi Palmer and Molly & Gehrig Scherer; Brothers, Delmar (Phyllis) Wilken and Donald (Jo) Wilken; Sister, Marilyn Boebel; Sister-in-law, Marjorie Mehlberg and Brother-in-law, Eldon (Carolyn) Mehlberg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. Mehlberg in 1994, her parents, brother, Lloyd (Belva) Wilken, Sister-in-law, Carlene Wilken and brothers-in-law, Carl Boebel and Lester Mehlberg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church, 550 E. Shepherd St. in Charlotte with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Millerburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 10-11 A. M. at the Church.
