Frank R. Silvas, Sr.

Frank R. Silvas, Sr., 82, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was born January 28, 1931 in New Braunfels, Texas, the son of Pedro and Felicitas (Rodriquez) Silvas. He married Cruz Rangel November 28, 1948. The couple moved dto Charlotte in 1955, where they raised three children, Olga, Frank, Jr. and Theresa. He worked for the city of New Braunfels before moving to Michigan where he worked as foreman at C & B Silo for 18 years and AE Hoover for 10 years before retiring from Meijers. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cruz; daughter, Olga Williams (Kent Williams, deceased); son, Frank, Jr. (Barb) and daughter, Theresa Faust (Ron Nighbert); grandchildren, Ron, Yvonne, Travis, Amber, Ryan, Wesley, Arron, Brendon and Bailey; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Sid, Matt, Pete and Bruce and sisters, Mary and Jobie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Juan, Pedro and David and grandson, Blake. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Charles Jenson officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
