Frederick John Strouse, Sr. born April 4, 1938, in North Star, MI to Frederick and Olga Strouse, died May 12, 2020. Fred graduated from Ashley High School, and married Patricia Lance on June 15, 1957 who predeceased him, along with their son David (Jan), his parents, and his half-brother Phillip (Mary). Pat and Fred cared for each other throughout their 60 years of married life. Fred is survived by two sons, Robert (Susan), and Fred Jr., 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Fred was employed by Friedland Industries and was a loyal hardworking employee for 52 years. He was an active member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude, their Ushers Club, and a 4th Degree Color Corp member of Knights of Columbus Assembly 2982. Fred loved going to his grandchildrens sporting events, woodworking, country music, hunting and fishing, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, and playing the lottery. Most of all, Fred loved his family and enjoyed visiting with them. He was a quiet man, but enjoyed a good laugh, and good food. He will be missed by his family, friends, K of C brothers, and neighbors. Out of respect and concern for public health and safety, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Catholic Community of St. Jude with Rev. Fr. Anthony Strouse celebrating. Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery. A public Memorial Mass will be held once the current restrictions have been lifted.
