Genevieve E. Rutherford age 84 of Charlotte, MI, died Wed. Jan. 20, 2010 at the Sparrow Hospital, Lansing. Mrs. Rutherford was born May 29, 1925 in Allyson Corners, Missouri the daughter of Harry Paul and Adah Maude (Allyson) Lambley. She had recently moved back to Charlotte after having lived in Fayetteville, AR for 25 years. While in Charlotte she had been the owner/operator of Beauty By Burns and Merle Norman Cosmetics. She was a member of the Charlotte O. E. S. #218, the White Shrine and the Daughters Of The Nile. She had been a member of the Charlotte Woman’s Club and the First Congregational Church and it’s Mary Martha Circle. Surviving are: her son, Gene (Bea) Burns of Charlotte; step son, Gary (Beverly) Rutherford of Dimondale, MI; step daughters, Sandra Rutherford of Pigeon, MI and Jane (Michael) Kopp of Mt. Clemons, MI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Carl (Carol) Taylor of Charlotte; sister, Elizabeth (Gene) Zieglowsky of Washington, IA and brother-in-law, Jack (Marilyn) Rutherford of Pigeon, MI. She was preceded in death by husband, William Tom Rutherford on May 29, 2009; by her daughter, Joy Burns Ward; brother, Charles Taylor and sister-in-law, Helen Laney. A Funeral service will be held at 5:00 P. M. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Julie Zieglowsky officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held later in the Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland, Arkansas. Arrangements in Arkansas by the Moore’s Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville, Arkansas. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Chicago, IL.
