Georgana Mary Payette

Georgana M. (McGillis) Payette of Potterville, MI, formerly of Olivet, MI, age 87, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care. Georgana was born Sept. 2, 1928 in Mikado, Michigan the daughter of William and Velma (Brooks) McGillis and had been a longtime resident of Olivet. She recently relocated to Potterville to live with her daughter. She had been a member of the Charlotte Assembly of God where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher for 31 years. Surviving are: 6 children, Sandra Kozachik of Potterville, Cherrie (Steve) Fisher of Graford, TX, Nancy (Bob) Lahr of Three Rivers, Francessca Payette of Florida, William (Lilly) Payette of Grand Haven and Charles (Mary) Payette of Potterville; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Theodore (Eilene) McGillis of Portland, OR and Clinton (Sue) McGillis of Duck Lake and sister, Wanda Hall of Portland, MI. She was preceded in death by: her husband, William Payette; 4 brothers, Alonzo, Alfred, Raymond and Arthur McGillis and 2 sisters, Dona Ridenour and Arvilla McGillis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Minister Bill Payette officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7 PM at the Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek.
