Geraldine Claire Pridmore

Geraldine Claire Lake (Wolfe) Pridmore, age 73 of Waterford, Michigan went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 28 th , 2014 after a brief illness. Gerri was born July 27, 1940 in Lee Township, Calhoun County, Michigan, the daughter of William Clair Lake and Lena (Hisler) Lake. She was raised on the family dairy farm and enjoyed working alongside her father. Gerri learned gardening skills from her mother and developed a passion for flower gardening, she would later become a master gardener. Gerri graduated from Olivet Schools in 1958 and attended Olivet College. She received her Masters degree in education from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. In 1960 Gerri married Roger Wolfe, they had 2 daughters; Karen R. Wolfe and Wendy S. Wolfe. This marriage ended in divorce. On October 12 th , 1984 Gerri married Dr. John S. Pridmore, he preceded her in death in September of 2008. Gerri retired from Pontiac Schools in 2000 where she had taught elementary & middle school students since 1974. During retirement Gerri & John enjoyed volunteering at the Waterford Historical Society where she was actively involved in maintaining the flower gardens. She was especially fond of the rose garden. Recently Gerri had been appointed to the Waterford Library Board. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Lena Lake, half brother, Wayne R. Lake and her husband, Dr. John Pridmore, MD. She is survived by daughters, Karen Wolfe of Hastings, MI and Wendy (Fred) Naranjo of Goliad, TX; Grandchildren, Denis (Shelly) Martindale of Cascade, MI, Kyle Martindale of Hastings and Michael Naranjo of Goliad, TX; Great granddaughter, Madisyn Martindale; Step-great granddaughter, Katelyn Johnson; Sisters, Blanche Piepkow, Maude (Albert) Startup, Barbara Lake and Judy Caldwell and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebratory memorial service in Gerris honor will be held on her birthday, July 27, 2014 at the Lee Center United Methodist Church, 23058 21 Mile Rd., Olivet, MI 49076 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to Lee Center United Methodist Church, 24304 Baseline Hwy., Olivet, MI 49076 per Gerris request.
