Guadalupe Vela Reyes

Guadalupe Vela Reyes of Springport, MI, formerly of Lansing, MI, age 63 died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Mr. Reyes was born August 3, 1950 at Alma, MI the son of Ernesto Bruno and Virginia (Vela) Reyes and had been a Springport resident for 2 ½ years coming from Lansing. He was a U. S. Marine Veteran of the Viet Nam War having received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a retired General Motors Warranty Office employee with 35 years of service. He was a member of AM Vets, the V. F. W., Bassmasters, the Robins Roadrunners and the Charlotte Cruisers Car Club. Surviving are: his wife, Kimberly J. (Waters) Reyes; children, Linda Westphal, Chelsea Reyes and Travis Reyes; step children, Heather Waters and Joshua Ryan; 6 grandchildren and 6 siblings, Gloria Reyes, Juan Reyes, Ernestina Tupper, Ernesto Reyes, Gilbert Reyes and Victoria Reyes. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte with Father David Rosenberg officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 A. M. until time of services at the Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will be at 2:30 P. M.
