Hazel Moore Hamilton

Hazel Moore Hamilton LaGrange, Indiana Hazel Lorraine Moore Hamilton, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at Life Care Center of LaGrange. Formerly of Charlotte, Michigan she had resided in Indiana for the past five years. Mrs. Hamilton was born on February 13, 1921 in Carmel Township, Eaton County, MI, a daughter of Ernest and Sarah (Fowler) Davis. She spent her formative years on the family farm. She attended Cosmetology School in Detroit, Michigan and owned her own beauty shop for 40 years in Charlotte. On June 22, 1941 she married Robert Bruce Moore who preceded her in death on September 10, 1970. She married Frank Hamilton on June 7, 1976 and he passed on November 1, 1994. Her only sister, Ailene (Davis) Deland also preceded her in death on October 12, 2009. Surviving are: a daughter, Joy (Terry) Sowles of Battle Creek, Michigan; a son, Terry (Nancy) Moore of Kendallville, Indiana; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. Hazel was an avid gardener, loved her flowers and the produce she always grew. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Charlotte and also a member of the Charlotte Camping Club. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, with Funeral Services on Wednesday Oct. 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, MI with Pastor David Bowering officiating. Burial will follow at the Millerburg Cemetery of rural Charlotte.
