Helen Irene (Hey) Frayer, 91, of Bellevue, Michigan, our beloved mother, followed Jesus Christ to her new room in God’s house on Sunday, January 1, 2017. She is now free of earthly burdens and is enjoying the company of Jesus and all the saints. Helen was preceded in her journey to heaven by her high school sweetheart and husband of more than 60 years, Franklin J. Frayer, Sr., her parents, John and Naomi Hey, brother and sister-in-law, Denny and Norma Hey, her sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne (Hey) and Oscar Frahm, and daughter-in-law, Pam (Howard) Frayer. She will be dearly missed by her children, John W. Frayer, Frank J. Frayer, Jr. and his wife, Janet, Jeff A. Frayer, Jeannie M. (Frayer) McKenzie and her husband, Randy, and Judy A. (Frayer) Ruiz and her husband, Lupe, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Helen was a dedicated member of the Bellevue Historical Society and St. Anne’s Church in Bellevue. She donated over 6 gallons of blood in her lifetime and volunteered at the blood bank. She also enjoyed going for walks and flying kites on the farm, gardening, making cookies for others, sewing-to include making baby quilts for charity and Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls for her family and others, meeting with her friends, and traveling. Of all of her travels, she particularly enjoyed trips to Baltimore, Mackinac Island, New York City, Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Kentucky, North Carolina, Germany and Italy. A Celebration of Life/Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 312 S. Main St., Bellevue MI with Fr Dwight Ezop as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday January 6, 2017 from 6-8 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 7:30 PM at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, 206 W. Lawrence Ave, Charlotte, MI with visitation also being held on Saturday for one hour prior to the Funeral at the Church. Interment will be in the Kalamo Hillside Cemetery (in the village of Kalamo), 1475 N. Ionia Rd., Vermontville, MI.
