Iva Marie Lapoint

Iva M. LaPoint of Olivet, Michigan, age 86, died Saturday, Nov. 7;, 2015 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Iva was born August 14, 1929 in Nashville, Michigan the daughter of Ruben and Martha (Wyble) Norton and had lived most of her life in the Olivet area. She was a graduate of Olivet High School and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Olivet O. E. S. She had worked at Shulers of Marshall, had been involved in the Real Estate business and more recently was owner/operator of the Pine Lake Resort in Olivet. Surviving are: two sons, Daniel (Romona) LaPoint and Dennis (Vicki) LaPoint; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Vern (Pat) Norton and half-brother, Roland Axtell. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Robert L. LaPoint; son, David LaPoint; granddaughter, Melysa Baker; sisters, Dorothy and Sarah; brothers, Bob, Leo and Neil and half-brother, Terry Axtell. At Iva's prior request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 at the First Assembly of God Church, 4767 W. Butterfield Hwy. in Olivet with Pastor Doug Hammond officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue. Memorial contributions may go to the Oaklawn Hospice in Marshall or to the Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte.
