Jack R. King of Charlotte, age 74, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 at the Hospice House Of Mid Michigan with his loving family at his side. Jack was born May 1, 1940 in Charlotte, MI the son of Roy H. and Edna C. (DeLong) King and was a lifelong Chester Township resident. He was a 1958 Graduate of Charlotte High School and attended Ferris State University for 2 years. He was a retired Tool and Die Maker for Oldsmobile Division of General Motors with 30 years of service and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the western United States and enjoyed wintering in Ruskin, Florida. He was an antique dealer and enjoyed auction sales. Surviving are: his wife of 52 years, Sharon (Jones) King; three children, Darrin (Amee) King of Grand Ledge, Beth (Eric) Pulver of Dimondale and Jeff (Heather) King of Livonia; 5 grandchildren, Kyle & Evan King, Danny Small, Rachel Small and Addie King; sister, Joyce Wilmore of Charlotte and brother, James King of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorothy and Pat. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte. A Luncheon Reception immediately following the Memorial Gathering will be held at the Maple Brook Golf Club in Charlotte. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the Hospice House of Mid Michigan or the American Cancer Society.
