Jacob Willis Russell

Jacob Willis Russell of Charlotte, MI, age 84, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility where he had been an active resident for more than 16 years. Mr. Russell was born August 31, 1930 in Antwerp Township of Van Buren County, Michigan the son of Willis Irving and Mary M. (Plowfield) Russell. He was a Graduate of Mattawan High School, had served 19 years as a Michigan State Police Officer retiring in 1973. He also served in the Michigan Army National Guard. Surviving are: Sisters, Marianna Wells of Charlotte and Barbara Gellash of Old Town, FL; 1 brother, Joseph Lee Russell of Olivet; Daughter, Sally Ingels of California; son, Stephen Russell of Mt. Pleasant; nephew, Dennis Wells of Charlotte; several grandchildren and nieces and nephews and all of his “family of friends” and caregivers at the Eaton County Medical Care Facility. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, David and Charlie Russell. Per Mr. Russell’s prior request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 825 North Cochran Ave, Charlotte,MI with Pastor Mark Booth officiating.
