James A. Cooper age 77 of Nashville, Michigan, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 after a short illness. Jim was born March 20, 1938 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Frank and Carol (Russell) Cooper and had lived in Battle Creek, Olivet and Charlotte before locating in Nashville. He had attended the Olivet Schools and Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek where he received his Degree in Welding. He had been a farmer, a factory worker and most recently operated his own welding business from his home. Surviving are: his daughter, Bonnie (Michael) Silsbee of Nashville; his son, Frank (Connie) Cooper of Lynnville, TN; six grandchildren, Randy Silsbee, Jason (Rachel King) Silsbee, Michelle Silsbee, Malinda (Clint) Pape, Barry Cooper and Lauren (Adam Smith) Cooper; four great grandchildren, Macie & Clayton Pape and Gavin & Rhettney Silsbee and his sister, Noreen (James) Loughan of Kauffman, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 50 years, Marvel June (Tyler) Cooper in 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Michael Fuller and Pastor Darrell Clements officiating. Interment will be in the Wilcox Cemetery in Maple Grove Township. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
