James Douglas Cousino, Sr., Age 74 of Olivet died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at the Emergency Room at Oaklawn Hospital of a Heart Attack. James was born March 5, 1938 in Bono, Ohio, Jerusalem Township to Alfred and Francis (Garver) Cousino. He attended Olivet Schools and Kellogg Community College. On June 19, 1965 he married Linda Baker in St. Mary’s Church in Charlotte and had 2 daughters, Carie and Nicki Jo Cousino and 2 sons, James Douglas, Jr. and Joseph Michael Cousino. He served in the U. S. Army and later served in the Michigan National Guard for a few years. He worked for McGraw-Edison for 18 years and later for Koyo Corporation in Battle Creek until 2009 from where he retired after 20 years of service. James like to garden, cook and work on his J. D. Tractors. He loved his church,( St. Mary’s in Charlotte), and on March 6, 1994 he married Marija D. (Skubitz) Buritic. He is survived by: his wife, Marija; his daughters, Cari (Bill) Ferman of Homer and Nicki Jo Cousino of Battle Creek; sons, James Douglas (Michelle) Cousino, Jr. of Concord and Joseph Michael Cousino of Coldwater; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Wireman of Olivet, Mirna Neufer of Olivet and Sharon Hanna of Marshall and brother, John Cousino of Olivet. Also surviving are 2 boys on Linda’s side of the family who grew up together with them in Olivet, Thomas Hinckly of Florida and his half brother, Robert Cervantes of Texas. Visitation was held from 12 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte. Graveside services and interment will be held at 3:00 P. M. Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Lee Center Cemetery on V Drive North, Olivet, MI with Father Francis Mossholder of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Charlotte officiating.
