James Robert Keeley

James Robert Keeley, age 78, of Charlotte passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. He was born April 27, 1939 in Eaton Rapids to Charles and Louise (Schleicher) Keeley. Jim went on to graduate from Potterville High School in 1957. On January 25, 1958, he married Nancy Kay Dickerson in Dimondale. Jim was a lifelong dairyman and farmer. He was passionate about his occupation and saw to it that everything was done with great care and pride. Jim enjoyed all things outdoors. He liked to hunt, fish, and work in his garden. Jim was also an avid MSU Basketball fan. All of these things comprised a great life but Jims family was what was most important to him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jim loved to spend time together with his family but especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his children: Patrick Keeley of Seattle, WA, Leslie (Steve) White of White Lake, Joseph (Mary) Keeley of Charlotte; grandchildren: Ryan Keeley, Alexandra Keeley, Meagan Keeley, Jacob (Mariela) White, Courtney White; sister-in-law, Dorothy Dickerson; and brother-in-law, Bruce Duguid. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nancy in 2016; and sister, Barbara Duguid. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 3-5 PM at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, Charlotte with a memorial service immediately following at 5 P.M. with Samuel Graham officiating.
