Jane I. Walters, age 104, of Charlotte, MI died Friday, May 29, 2015 at the River Inn AFC Home in Sunfield, MI. Mrs. Walters was born April 26, 1911 in Harper County, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Mitten) Wilson and had been a Charlotte resident since 1919. She was a member of the Crossroads Church of the United Brethren in Christ of Charlotte and the WMA (Woman’s Missionary Association) and had been attending the Sunfield United Brethren Church. She had served as a Red Cross Volunteer at Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital for 29 years. She especially loved her family and family gatherings. Surviving are: three sons, Donald Walters of Charlotte, Gary (Judy) Walters of Charlotte and Max Walters of Summerfield, FL; two daughters, Suzanne (Howard) Cherry of Warren, IN and Phyllis (Paul) Whitney of Hart, MI; 20 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren with 4 “on the way.” She was preceded in death by: her husband, Guy C. Walters in 1990; 4 grandchildren, Todd Walters, Deborah O’Bryant, Steve Walters and Eugene Walters and 2 daughters-in-law, Eleanor Walters and Shirley Walters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Randy Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7 PM and Tuesday from 12 Noon-1:00 PM prior to the services. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
